Hazelnuts hold a significant place among the agricultural products of Düzce Province. According to TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data from 2014, hazelnut production takes place on 626,850 decares of land in the province, placing it fourth in Turkey in terms of production. Among the districts, Akçakoca has the highest production with 218,650 decares and 29,519 tons. Many hazelnut and hazelnut product (natural shelled hazelnuts, roasted shelled hazelnuts, hazelnut flour, etc.) sales points are located in the province and its districts.
