How to Get There: For those coming from Istanbul; after the Hendek exit on the TEM Highway, exit at Gümüşova-Gölyaka within the borders of Düzce province. For those coming from Ankara; after the Kaynaşlı exit, exit at Gümüşova-Gölyaka within the borders of Düzce province. Follow the Gölyaka sign to reach Gölyaka. From within Gölyaka, head south and at the Açma village turnoff, head east towards Hacı Yakup Village, then turn south and follow the "Güzeldere" signs. Güzeldere Waterfall Nature Park is 18 kilometers from Düzce and 11 kilometers from Gölyaka.
Güzeldere Waterfall Nature Park is located within the borders of Gölyaka District in Düzce and covers an area of 22.76 hectares. Situated 18 km from Düzce, the waterfall is located in Güzeldere village, 11 km from Gölyaka district, at an altitude of 630 m. It was registered as a recreation area on December 28, 1993, and as a Nature Park on July 11, 2011.
Located on the Bıçkı Stream, which flows through Güzeldere village, the waterfall offers a magnificent sight, combining the natural exuberance of the water cascading from a height of 120 m with the presence of giant beech and hornbeam trees. The waterfall and its surroundings, extending towards Elmacık Mountain (1,700 m), are notable for their forested landscape. The area surrounding the waterfall is home to various trees including beech, hornbeam, fir, yew, Scots pine, black pine, chestnut, linden, maple, ash, walnut, forest poplar, forest willow, rhododendron, blackthorn, and burdock; as well as plants such as blackberry, rowan, hawthorn, laurel, St. John's wort, snowdrop, Arabian hyacinth, cyclamen, violet, buttercup, fern, vetch, and chickpea.
Güzeldere Waterfall Nature Park is an important asset of the region with its natural landscape, picnic and organized forest recreation areas, and walking trails.
